Raffi Muhammad

Started out his music carrier by the time he was 8 years old and released his first album on August 2006. His first childhood album called “Can’t stop the beat” was recorded in LA and produced by Harvey Mason. There were also many contributors from several jazz musicians such as Bo James, Tom Scott, Paul Jackson Jr, Nathan East, to Vann Johnson on vocals for “Bengawan Solo” in his album. Rafi also received several awards from MURI (National’s Record Museum of Indonesia). One of his the first one is “The youngest musician to perform at Java Jazz Festival”. He also had a concert entitled “Tiga Generasi” along with Gilang Ramadhan and Benny Mustafa. In which he represents as the youngest drummer. Later on 2009, Rafi became the youngest producer in Indonesia at that time. Not only solo albums, Rafi also works through music projects with Indonesian musicians such as Indra Lesmana, Barry Likumahuwa, Adra Karim, Sri Hanuraga, and many other great musicians. Starting from “Rafi and The Beat”, “Art of Tree”, “LLW”, “Her Coat of Arm”, and “Zatua”. This musical work is a reflection of his career in the music world. Fast forwarded it to 2017, Rafi’s second solo album entitled “Transition” was released at Motion Blue, Yokohama, Japan. Since then, Rafi’s career in Japan has been increasingly recognized by jazz music lovers across the country. Until the end of 2019, the “Transition” album tour covered several city points from Tokyo to Kyoto, as well as Motion Blue Yokohama and Blue Note Nagoya.
